Can Veganism Cure World Hunger?

Veganism may be of significant importance in the attempts to fight world hunger.
Researches show that 690 million people are underfed. What is more 144 million children suffer from underdevelopment from chronic malnutrition? UNICEF and other organisations are trying as hard as they can to reduce those numbers, however, it is still not enough. The question arises: what can we do to produce more food and reduce its costs? At first, it seems like an impossible task but the answer may be very simple.

To produce meat products you need to produce plant products to feed the animals. This obviously requires land for both products. Instead, you could use the animal farm terrain to produce plants. This way both areas are efficiently managed and produce more calories for humans.
Moreover, the meat industry supposedly uses 30 times more water than plant-based products.

New researches from the biggest universities from all around the world indicate that plant-based production costs much less than its’ counterpart. The production costs less, but the pricing of vegan products being higher than meat ones appears to be a myth. Foods such as beans, tofu, lentils, chickpeas can be even 3 or 4 times cheaper than beef or pork.

If we really want to help others and fight world hunger, we should introduce some vegan products to our diets. Are our convenience and lust more important than the suffering of others?

Have your say!

I completely agree that the world is facing serious hunger problems, and going vegan is one of the most effective alternatives available. The livestock industry consumes over a third of all food produced. Before we slaughter and eat the animals, the majority of the crops are fed to them. This behavior has a significant financial cost. Instead, crops, which are less expensive than meat, can provide nourishment for a large number of people. Vegan food is also nutritious and delicious. The dairy products, in particular, are extremely high in harmful sugars. So, contrary to popular assumption, being vegan is healthy not just for the environment but also for the body.
We should also consider opinions that people against veganism are trying to show, or so they generally thought. For example iron deficiency is the most important definitely think that critics of vegans say in a fairly big way. Obviously it can specifically be supplemented the same like the really other vegan options. The facts that are enquired by critics generally are also true according to studies. But this studies for all intents and purposes are based on a one point of view. After looking wider that can be not as true as they seem.

Nowadays, veganism is becoming increasingly popular, due to the impact of social
media and celebrities. Vegan food and products are now available almost everywhere and
being on a diet like that is way easier than it used to be a few years ago. Veganism is
currently defined as a way of living- vegans don’t use any form of animal exploitation and
cruelty such as food, clothing, cosmetics, furniture, and many other things. Some people
do this because of potential health effects and to improve their form, some want to live in
harmony with nature and believe that every creature has the right to live freely and others
do it because of the environmental impact of animal agriculture.
