During turf wars (walka o wpływy), the Neapolitan mafia are using arms smuggled from Poland.
In 2005, two Camorra clans – Panico and Sarno – started a brutal war on the streets of Naples, which resulted in the death of twenty people. Italian investigators established that during street fights mafia members used Skorpion machine guns smuggled from Poland.
During the investigation (dochodzenie) it turned out that wife of one of Camorra’s members, Francesco Siciliano, is originally from Poland. It was established that she had met her future husband after coming to Italy to work. Maria B. introduced her husband Siciliano to Tomasz C., a Polish criminal who was hiding in Italy.
Tomasz C. organized arms transfer from Poland to Italy. Guns were hidden in coaches which transported Polish seasonal workers to Italy. Three other Poles – Janusz F., a driver, Andrzej K. and Rafal B. – were involved in smuggling. Apart from supplying arms to the Italian mafia, Poles also serviced them.
All Polish criminals who cooperated with Camorra were arrested and charged but the prosecutor’s office did not manage to prove that they repeatedly smuggled arms so they received short sentences and soon returned to Poland. “An Italian arrest warrant for the Poles was dismissed because they also smuggled arms to Poland,” an Italian prosecutor Vincenzo d’Onofrio said. The trial has been adjourned. Only Francesco Siciliano remains in custody (więzienie) in Italy.

Which mafia should we be afraid of now? Italian, Polish or maybe Polish-Italian?
Have you say!

It is not good that they managed to avoid penalty. Also In my opinion the participation of Poles in this action is a coincidence. The wife could be posibbly from every other country. Bad luck caused that she was from Poland. Everyone will admit that it smugglers exists in every other country. As we say ” the opportunity makes the thief”. I am not trying to find some excusions for them, I do not support what they did, I just try to explain that things like that happens in every other country.

Relations between the Polish and Italian mafia police are known for a long time. Transportation of weapons from the East (Poland and Russia) to the west (Italy, Germany) is the bane of the police a long time. There have been many specialized police units, which are designed to prosecute and dismantle organized groups of smugglers. They cooperate with the Border Guards. So far, managed to intercept several shipments of weapons passing through our state. In my view, the breakdown of these criminal groups strongly weaken the Neapolitan mafia (the Camorra) and sucylijskie (Cosa Nostra)
