Scandal of Travel to Madrid Goes on

Members of party PiS (Law and Justice): Adam Hofman, Mariusz Kamiński and Adam Rogacki took several thousands of money from the Seym purse for the journey to Spain. It turned out that they flew there by budget airlines instead of travelling by car. On 30th October they flew to Madrid to the meeting of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly. After a short investigation journalists found out that Mr. Hofman and his colleagues did not take part in the deliberations.
What is more, politicians’ wives brawled on the board. According to the story of one of the passengers women wanted to drink their own alcohol. They calmed down when the pilot threatened them that they will have to reimburse costs of landing. When media found out about this case, the politicians accounted for themselves that they decided to use the plane because plans linked with election campaign changed.
Adam Hofman, Mariusz Kamiński and Adam Rogacki were suspended and expelled from PiS. It turned out that they had spent over PLN 417,000 on all their journeys! But the record-holder is Mariusz Kamiński, who had spent PLN 156,278.82 ! It is so incredible.

Firstly, i would like to point out, that the thing that PiS party members did back then, was a common practise among other members of all parties. It would not became such big scandal if media didn’t find it out. Taking public money for transport to go for international conference, and changing the way of travelling to keep some of this money doesn’t look too tremendous to me. And i am not a PiS party follower. According to informations I’ve found, deputies diet in Poland is one of the lowest in the EU. But let’s leave it behind. What really surpries me is that the members with their wives could not act properly while being on the plane. It really seems equally stupid and funny, such lack of imagination.
I hope next time polish deputies will go to the conference, they, or their partners won’t throw up in the airport hallway.
