This new reagent (pol. odczynnik) reacts with blood, sweat, saliva or semen and it gives a fluorescent contrast immediately.

By using this method officers will be able to check the bodily fluids straightforward when they arrive at the scene of the crime. Before this spray was invented the process of finding and analysing the samples in order to uncover the guilty party’s identity was rather complicated and time-consuming.

But now, this pioneering technology which was invented by the scientists at King’s College in London will certainly speed up the identification of the perpetrator. New technology will glow different colours depending on which fluid is found. The sample can then be sent for forensic analysis to extract DNA which later enables the officer to make an arrest if the culprit is already known to the police.

The forensic biocensor that uses the latest nano and bio technologies is expected to provide the police officers with vital leads in the first critical hours of the investigation. Because the ministers are aware that this will make and unbelievable progress in CSI, they decided to have this technology tested by London’s Met Police in 113,000 pilot scheme.

Do you think this CSI spray will be soon introduced to the Polish police? Will this make a significant difference?

Have your say!
